The Role

As a Solution Architect you will work as part of a programme team responsible for the design and delivery of our new Oracle Merchandise Management System and associated capabilities. In close collaboration with Business & IT Product teams your role will be responsible for designing the new, solution and ensuring that it will meet our stated functional and non-functional requirements.

This is a 6 month (full time) contract role.


You Will

  • You will undertake impact analyses to help shape business cases, project / system changes scope, technical requirements and delivery.
  • You will investigate, scope and document the technical specification requirements for project and BAU system changes.
  • You will design and architect performant integrated business systems and changes to best satisfy the objectives.
  • You will understand and coordinate the detailed specifications of system integration requirements as well as the appropriately robust reconciliation, audit and housekeeping processes.
  • You will ensure that any non-functional requirements, environmental or technology constraints are captured, considered and addressed as part of the solution design.
  • You will have created and maintained the required IT Product architecture, Integrations maps and detailed documentation.
  • You will develop strong relationships with Business stakeholders, Business Analysts and Product Teams; both within IT and across the organisation, to guarantee that the Programme solution designs, map to the requirements of the business ensuring alignment to the roadmap of partner teams and the wider strategic roadmap of the company.
  • You will work with IT product teams and 3rd party software providers to understand and shape system development roadmaps.
  • You will work with test management teams to help shape and scope system and user testing requirements.
  • You will support and guide Project and IT Product teams acting as a consultant and subject matter expert to resolve solution design issues.
  • You will work closely with Project Management, IT Product and Technical teams to understand technical dependencies ensuring successful planning and delivery.
  • You will keep up to date with 3rd party software providers roadmaps and wider product & capabilities portfolios.
  • You will keep up to date with market trends and the applications of the latest technology.
  • You will support IT Product teams and 3rd party suppliers in incident resolution, root cause analysis and defect resolution.
  • You will ensure security, disaster recovery and resiliency options and requirements are understood, ensuring solutions and integrations are appropriately aligned.

You Are

  • Experienced in both gathering and understanding business requirements and turning them in to viable system solutions
  • Experienced in creating and documenting system integration requirements
  • Self-motivated and keen to learn new technologies / skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Creative with an innovative mindset, capable of solving problems and providing solutions
  • Attentive to detail, documenting changes and how things work

  • A quick learner with the ability to adapt
  • Minimum 3 years Solution Architect experience (or equivalent)
  • Ideally educated to degree level in a technical subject
  • Significant experience of designing solutions that operate on the core technologies in use within Superdry such as e-Commerce, OMS, retail ERP, WMS, Supply Chain, HR and Finance systems.
  • Proven ability to deliver flexible, reliable, supportable, cost effective (packaged and bespoke) IT solutions
  • Demonstrable experience in IT industry standards, services, design, architecture principles design, architecture views and viewpoint design, building block design, solutions modelling and systems behavior
  • Good experience of IT Architecture (and underlying frameworks such as TOGAF and SOA) including the development (and ensuring adherence to) architecture principles and standards
  • Knowledge of relevant technologies including document management, CRM/case management, BPM, web applications, portals, messaging, and integration (Middleware), data management, etc.
  • Proficiency in methods and techniques for structured reviews, including reviews of non-functional requirements, technical documents, test plans, business cases and other key deliverables
