The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Assurance Officer to join our India  Quality & Technical Team. You will work on the implementation and monitoring of Superdry quality standards, collaborating closely with Suppliers and the wider India Tech Team as well as the UK Quality Assurance Team. The role requires in-depth knowledge of all areas of garment manufacturing and quality management systems, including Supplier performance management and Corrective Action Plans. Previous experience of working at premium quality level across multiple product categories is essential, together with strong communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships.

You Will

  • Support Suppliers in the delivery of products which meet Superdry’s best-in-class quality standards, with support and direction from your line manager and other key stakeholders
  • Identify risks to delivered quality by taking part in risk assessments and attending Supplier pre-production meetings, recording and escalating any concerns in a timely way
  • Have an in-depth understanding of AQL inspection levels and processes
  • Undertake regular in-line and pre-shipment inspections to monitor production quality and ensure it matches approved standards
  • Work collaboratively with Suppliers to train or coach their quality teams on better ways of working, engaging at all levels
  • Manage regular Supplier Performance reviews, discussing successes and failures openly and honestly, and agreeing on any required action plans
  • Give feedback clearly and precisely, in a way that will gain buy-in from Suppliers’ senior managers and encourage them to make the necessary changes or improvements
  • Own the responsibility for following up on AQL failures, working closely with Suppliers on root cause analysis and Preventative/Corrective Action Plans
  • Maintain clear, accurate and detailed records of Supplier Improvement Plans, listing ownership of actions and timelines for change
  • Build a strong, effective relationship with the UK QA Team, working together to investigate ways of reducing and ultimately eliminating recurring defects
  • Be confident working strategically (with SLT) or operationally (with Techs and Suppliers)
  • Demonstrate robust time-management and organisational skills – able to set priorities and work without supervision
  • Act as an ambassador for Superdry quality standards, showing commitment and enthusiasm
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in product and process technology

You Are

  • A graduate with a relevant degree
  • Able to offer a minimum of 10 - 12 years multi-product experience, working for an international brand
  • Able to demonstrate expertise in all aspects of apparel production, fabric and finishing processes, print and embroidery techniques, garment construction, washing, etc
  • Able to analyse data with confidence and report back to the business with clear recommendations in a timely manner
  • Proactive and logical in approach
  • Able to build trust and respect with Suppliers and colleagues
  • An effective and capable communicator, fluent in the local language(s) and English (both written and spoken)
  • Skilled in offering practical solutions and advice when issues arise, collaborating effectively with all stakeholders
  • Confident when giving direction on quality issues, so that Suppliers are clear on the actions they need to take 
  • Able to train or mentor Suppliers to improve their understanding of Superdry quality requirements and performance standards
  • Able to work in an agile and adaptable way in a dynamic and fast-moving environment
  • Resilient and calm under pressure
  • A great role model – able to work for the good of the team, the India Office and the wider business
